Groups are privileged areas for data exchange on the Data Exchange Platform. Within these sub-communities, group members can easily share and retrieve exchanged data. Publications (data offerings, service offerings) are visible only to other group members.
You can ask the platform orchestrator to create or add you to a group as part of :
- Research group / consortium - To manage research groups that already have agreements between them, and data reserved for their exchanges.
- Hackathon / Data challenge - In the context of data-related competitions, a group can be created in advance of an event in which the data provider makes data offerings available only to participants who need access to the data as part of the competition.
- Field of activity - The group feature can also be used to organize categories of platform participants and organizations, for example according to a sector for which the data is specific and must not be visible to other members.

As a data provider, you can restrict the visibility of your data offerings to members of the groups to which you belong, at the "Visibility and sharing" step of the data offering submission.
Find the groups to which you belong in the platform directory. When you open a group page, you'll see a description of the group's purpose, a list of group member organizations, and all the data offerings that have been shared within the group.
