Themes are an effective way to connect with potential acquirers for your data. They let you present the data you'd like to offer without having to upload it right away, specify technical details, set a price, or define licenses.
Your themes appear on your organization's page and in search results, so make sure to fill them in as completely as possible.
With that in mind, here are a few tips to help you create effective themes:
- Choose your keywords carefully and diversify them using synonyms
- Describe simply the types of data you have or can collect
- Add the geographic area(s) your data comes from or relates to, favoring countries over continents
- Create several themes to segment the data you want to promote.
How to create a theme?
- Click on the Publication menu, you have two options:
- in the Quick Publication menu, click the Create button in the Theme section
- in the Themes menu, click Create a theme
Then click Submit my project
- Fill in the required information: name, description, collection territory
- Complete the additional information to provide context
- Add a cover image to make your theme more visible in search results
- Fill in use cases: they help acquirers envision the possible uses of your data and better perceive the value they could get from it
- Save to publish your theme.
Once published, your theme is visible on your organization's page, in the Discover this organization's offers section, as well as in results via Explore > Offers.
Head over to the Participant Portal now to complete your themes and reach potential data acquirers.
