An acquirer may ask you to adapt your price or the parameters of your license. You may propose a custom offering, reserved exclusively for that acquirer.
How do I propose a personalized offering?
If you only wish to offer a customized price to an acquirer without changing the license terms, you can do so from the dialog box by clicking on “Make a personalized proposal”.
If you also wish to change the conditions of use, you can then create a new custom data offering for this acquirer by duplicating the initial data offering, and modifying the desired distribution conditions. By choosing to make this new offering private, you have a customized version of the offering, which you can share with your acquirer via the dialog box.
Whatever the outcome of your negotiation, the initial offer visible to other members will not be modified on your listing. Your exchanges and the terms of the license will remain strictly confidential.
What aspects can be negotiated?
- The acquirer may feel that the price is too high.
- Perhaps the acquirer is only interested in one part of the overall dataset.
- The acquirer may want to have exclusivity for your file.
- The license might be overly restrictive.
